Module I: Theory (online)

Learn the method of protein crystallography in a live online course (course length: approximately 3 hours)

After this module, you will have:
  • understood the basic principle of the method 
  • gotten to know relevant practical activities using video sequences
  • gained the knowledge to be able to assess whether this method is of interest to you and whether it should be established in your company

We also offer Module I as a day course, in which we demonstrate the practical activities on site in your company.

Process of the module:

Theory: Method & protein crystallization

At the beginning, the theoretical foundations are laid so that you are able to understand the subsequent sections of the course. We will keep it short and concentrate on the essentials.

Illustration of protein crystallization and shipment to the synchrotron

Using video recordings in the laboratory, we will show you how proteins are crystallized and sent to the particle accelerator (synchrotron) after being transferred to liquid nitrogen.
3

Theory: Data set collection and structure solution

In the second theoretical part, we will explain how the particle accelerator works (data set collection) and how the protein structures are generated from the scattering data obtained.
